About us
Birmingham Design is an organisation dedicated to supporting the city’s budding creative community.
From organising events to connecting designers with people that matter our mission is to help the West Midlands become the creative powerhouse it deserves to be.
Our history
For the past few years, we’ve dedicated our time to helping grow the Birmingham creative scene. In 2017 we made it official, founding Birmingham Design Festival – a city-wide celebration of design that has taken place in 2018 & 2019.
Following the success of the festival, we founded Birmingham Design, a community-based project to help tie together the many strands that make up the West Midlands design culture.
What we do
Events
In addition to listing creative events happening in the city, we put on our own, ranging from an intimate evening for 6 to a 3 day festival for 10,000.
Championing the Birmingham design community
We created Birmingham Design as a platform to give creatives working in the city a voice in the bigger picture.
Design affects everyone living, working and visiting the city and we want to make a meaningful contribution to the West Midlands landscape.
If you’re a designer looking for some help or advice, whether it’s setting up an event or finding a freelancer feel free to drop us a line.
Meet the team
We’re a team of volunteers passionate about Birmingham’s creative scene. We all have day jobs but in our spare time, we help promote the city’s design industry.
