Our history

For the past few years, we’ve dedicated our time to helping grow the Birmingham creative scene. In 2017 we made it official, founding Birmingham Design Festival – a city-wide celebration of design that has taken place in 2018 & 2019.

Following the success of the festival, we founded Birmingham Design, a community-based project to help tie together the many strands that make up the West Midlands design culture.

What we do

In addition to listing creative events happening in the city, we put on our own, ranging from an intimate evening for 6 to a 3 day festival for 10,000.

Championing the Birmingham design community

We created Birmingham Design as a platform to give creatives working in the city a voice in the bigger picture.

Design affects everyone living, working and visiting the city and we want to make a meaningful contribution to the West Midlands landscape.

If you’re a designer looking for some help or advice, whether it’s setting up an event or finding a freelancer feel free to drop us a line.

“In my talk about what writers think of designers, I mentioned how I admire the entrepreneurial spirit that many designers have. Luke and Dan are excellent examples of that. Conjuring up a festival on this scale is an amazing creative achievement.

It is all clearly done for the love of it, and with a real sense of community-building. Not just on a par with London events, but better.”
