One Black Bear have been appointed by Oval Real Estate to promote their showcase Digbeth development.

The estate currently comprises Birmingham icons such as The Custard Factory and will ultimately feature office space, residential, bars, restaurants and entertainment. One Black Bear will be tasked with wide ranging briefs to promote the expanding estate including a new positioning for Digbeth as a whole plus promoting the area to prospective business tenants, weekend visitors to its leisure offer as well as general footfall and destination promotion. The area is currently subject to a consultation for a wide ranging and ambitious plan spanning 10- 15 years being submitted to the city council in 2020.

Richard Elwell of One Black Bear said: ‘Since we started our business 16 years ago, Jon and I have always been in Digbeth. We know the area and importantly, understand the fabric of what makes it what it is so we were best placed to answer Oval’s creative brief.  Digbeth has its own, inimitable vibe that seamlessly fuses old industrial Birmingham with modern day businesses and the area is thriving.  Big plans like these need big creative thinkers and we’re excited to be involved with James and his team at Oval’.

James Craig added : We see Oval as stewards of a special part of Birmingham; the historic buildings of Digbeth have always been home to a diverse range of incredible talent. It is our intention to continue with our programme of considered investment and careful re-activation across the estate; which we believe will provide the most exciting work and leisure space for the best independent, creative and ambitious folk of the Midlands. One Black Bear epitomises the raw talent that Digbeth is known for and we are delighted to have them working alongside Oval.
